Okay, Owl admit it...

I have a serious problem.
Last year I was going to "try to put a few cute owl things in my classroom" and "not become a total crazy owl lady".

Too late.

I have owl rings, owl pajamas, owl art, owl bags, owl paper weights, owl ornaments, owl... everything.

I even have an Owl Love pinterest board:

Today when I went shopping for a rug I bought all of this:
and forgot the rug! ; )

The good news is that all of my students LOVED having owls in the classroom... and did an awesome job becoming owl experts.
Check out some of their learning HERE

Yesterday I received an email from one of my students with
this ADORABLE picture attached:
Sam,  I just LOVE this picture!
THANK YOU for sharing it with me!

Tomorrow I will be posting pictures of my classroom.
I have worked really hard on creating a more organized, cheerful place to learn. : )

Owlets & Talons & Prey, Oh My!

Last week we did a great owl vocabulary review activity.
I divided the children into cooperative groups. Each group was in charge of one vocabulary word.
(owlet, talons, nocturnal, prey, predator, and roost) The group had the task of discussing, illustrating, and presenting their word to the rest of the class.

The children did a nice job discussing their word and problem solving to make sure that their illustration gave a clear picture of their word's meaning.

I recorded their GREAT presentations, but was bummed to discover that the volume is just not loud enough to share.

Way to go, Kindergarten Friends!
I am so proud of you all!

We finished up our Owl Fact Books too!

Here are a few of the inside pages:
