This week the children performed their Spring Musical - SQUIRM!

I am so proud of all of my kindergarten friends! They all did a wonderful job and had a blast singing about things that make you squirm.

Cooking in Kindergarten: Monster Mash

Cooking with Kindergarteners- always a huge hit!

Today we made Monster Mash.

I really wish I had brought in my flip camera today to record Mrs. Raymore as she read the recipe to each group.
I am positive that Food Network would have called her up to offer her a special Halloween cooking show for kids.
She is the best!

Here's the printable recipe:

Apple Investigation & Apple Fun

Apples, Apples, Apples

Here are some of the apple books we enjoyed last week:

The children and I *LOVED* doing
Mrs. Lee's Apple Investigation.

Each child weighed their apple using a balance scale, used cubes to measure it's height, drew their apple and noted it's color, checked for a stem, etc...

Click HERE to get a copy of the investigation from Mrs. Lee's Blog.
 It's awesome!

My growing scientists used their senses to make observations about apples

and they drew and labeled the parts of an apple in their science notebooks.

The children enjoyed peeling and coring their own apples. We put them into the crock pot, along with some sugar, cinnamon, and water... and a few hours later we had many visitors wondering what had the hallways smelling so good.
Our applesauce was delicious!

Cooking in Kindergarten: Roll a Bowl of Fruit Salad

My kindergarten friends and I love to cook!

Last week we had a lot of fun with:
Roll a Bowl of Fruit Salad

They had a blast rolling the dice to see what type of fruit and how many pieces to add to our fruit salad.

I made the dice with foam cubes and fruit/number stickers.

It was delicious and very fun to make!
