I am excited to share special journals that I have been keeping with my children. The messages we have written to each other make us smile, think, appreciate, and many times - laugh out loud.
I started this tradition early last year and our journaling is still going strong! Scott and Madilynn love writing to me and my husband ... and to each other. Once we write a message we simply slip it under the recipients pillow.
There is NOTHING quite like crawling into bed after a long day and finding a sweet or funny message from your child. : )
Here are some of my favorite love notes and secret messages:
(pop quiz from Scott)
(secret codes - fun!!)
(encouragement for our 1st 5K together.... we ran it on his 10th birthday/Thanksgiving )
(making sure Scott knows that I think he is pretty outstanding!)
(Madilynn wrote "ARMPIT 99" to Scott -their password for clubs, haha!!)
(word association)
(to me from Scott!!!)
(She!!! Means!! It!!)
(Scott's reply that melts.my.heart.)
(comics)
(spelling test)
(message from Daddy)
(super sick with bronchitis/flu when I found THIS under my pillow!!)
(Madilynn taped a treat in here for me)
Scott and Madilynn -thank you for making this tradition so special. I look forward to reading and writing many more messages!! :)
This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing. My daughter is just 2, but I'll tuck this idea away to use with her. I love that your son and daughter write to each other too.
ReplyDeleteThis is the sweetest thing ever!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best!!! I love Scott's secret codes, your hilarious replies to their notes, and Madilynn's ADORABLE get well note for you. Such a great way for them to practice and ENJOY writing. LOVE!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are lovely!! The next piccaso's - I think this would be great to use as a Literacy Activity because the children would be able to draw the characters from their favourite story book!!
