Being Frank is a wonderful story about being a little too honest. The writing is very witty. I found myself giggling as I read it to my students... and they have been passing it around for read to self time.
They love it!!!
We "reviewed" Green when the Caldecott Honors were announced. The illustrations and cut-outs in the book are amazing!! Also a class favorite!

I just bought Princess and the Pig and 3 Hens and a Peacock and they are both too cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered Jan Thomas. I LOVE her books Is Everyone Ready for Fun? and The Easter Bunny's Assistant. My favorite book series is Mr. Putter and Tabby by Cynthia Rylant. Those books make me laugh every time I read them!
ReplyDeleteBeing a new kindergarten teacher this year, I discovered I Need My Monster by Amanda Noll. We used the descriptive language to write about what our own monster would look like!
ReplyDeleteI read Jennifer Jones won't leave me alone and even though it is not a new book, it was the first time I read it aloud to students and they LOVED it. It also became a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteThe Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn is a very cute, great book for young children!
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard one for me because I am obsessed with children's books! I always love reading "The Very Greedy Bee" to my firsties. A new one for my class this year was Keven Henkes' "My Garden." I'd really like to do more with that book next year. A few of my all time faves that I read EVERY year are... Where The Wild Things Are, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
