Thoughtful Friends

After our musical, we decided to thank our music teacher, Mrs. Adams, with huge banner.

The children worked really hard on pictures and messages to Mrs. Adams.

Some of their messages include:

You rock Mrs. Adams.
You are the best in the world.
Great job!
I love you.
Thank you!!!!!!!

Many of the children also drew pictures of
fish, musical notes, Mrs. Adams, hearts....

They asked about her favorite colors and the names of all of the songs they sang, etc... I was proud that they were putting so much thought into their "thank you" and reflecting on what they loved about Mrs. Adams.

On the way to surprise her I tripped and fell on my knee... so hard that I practically had to crawl back to the clasroom! (Ouch!!) I only share this part because of my students' sweet messages that followed afterward (and because I think it is good to laugh at yourself every once and awhile).

Will- Thank you for your advice about the ice pack and your sweet message.

Makenzie - You are so thoughtful. Thank you for your kind words!

I am so thankful for my kind, thoughtful friends.

P.S. Mrs. Adams LOVED her banner and the swelling in my knee is FINALLY going down...

Which do you like better: Day or Night?

Last week we brainstormed and read about what people do during the day and during the night. Then we took a poll to determine what the children in our class liked better: day or night.

*Click on the picture to take a closer look at our graph.

After a great discussion we made a graph to compare the votes. After reading our graph we determined that the votes were tied; with 9 children stating that they like the daytime better and 9 liking the nighttime better.

Bravo! Bravo!

My kindergarten friends did an AMAZING job singing and dancing during their "Go Fish" musical.

Way to go! I am so proud of all of you!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our music teacher, Mrs. Adams, for sharing her knowledge and passion for music with us.

Spring Break Update

Dear Kindergarten Friends,

I hope that you have all had a WONDERFUL Spring Break, full of fun and laughter!
Madilynn and I went on many fun adventures together (Scott's school isn't on Spring Break just yet, but we surprised him with lunch one day). We enjoyed going to the Cincinnati Reds' Opening Day Parade and we always love our time at the Zoo! Tessa, one of the giraffes, had a baby on Saturday! Click here to read more about it.

We also spent time working in the classroom and I have several things to share:

Check out all of these cool non-fiction books! We will be reading and writing non-fiction books in Writer's Workshop! What animal do you want to learn more about?

Speaking of books, I purchased a HUGE collection of new picture books. I can't wait to share them with all of you!

Finally, LOOK at our female guppy. Looks like she is ready to have MORE babies!

I've missed you all!

Love,

Mrs. Rider

P.S. Please leave me a note and let me know what you did on Spring Break. I can't wait to hear about your adventures! :)
